Editorials - Zelda, a dying series?
The Legend of Zelda.  When you think about it, it hasn't had a bad history.  It's had a game for every Nintendo console from Game Boy to Nintendo to SNES, and now N64 and Game Boy COLOR.  I'd rate it as a successful game.  It is a very enjoyable game.  It isn't one of those shoot-em-up kablooie now-you're-dead games, it takes brains (or a good walkthrough) to beat.

After coming so far, one begins to wonder how far it will go? Has it come so far to be forgotten and never heard of again? Or will it continue, get better, and be played by more and more people?  That remains to be seen.

As everything stands right now, the game has grown to such proportions that it's hard to imagine it growing too far beyond where it's at without severly changing.  After all, in every episode (except Link's Awakening) you seem to be saving Zelda from Ganon, who has (once again, I might add) stolen the Tri-Force.   The difference between each of the games lies in the dungeons, weapons, graphics, and some other little things.

How far can Miaymoto take it?  From my point of view, the storyline needs something fresh.  Maybe next time it isn't Zelda who's captured, but some insignificant nobody who turns out to be the key to the salvation of Hyrule.   Maybe Link is captured and it's Zelda's turn to wield the Master Sword.

I'd like to hear some more ideas.  Who knows, maybe if we come up with something good enough, Nintendo will make a game out of it!

Whatever happens, I plan on being one of the first people to get myself a copy of the game.

Thanks for visiting! :)
