NPS: What is the secret to a great game?
Miyamoto: It has to be balanced. The game should be 70% objectives, and 30%
secrets and exploration.
NPS: How long should it take the average player to beat Ocarina of Time?
Miyamoto: It should take the average player about 40 hours. It is hard to
say, because there is alot of freedom in the Overworld.
NPS: Is Link able to go back and forth through time?
Miyamoto: Yes, he can and must to complete his objectives.
NPS: Will Link speak in Ocarina of Time?
Miyamoto: The environmental sounds are more important, but Link will make a
sound when he is surprised. Link does not speak.
NPS: How many people are working on Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time right now?
Miyamoto: 40-50, it is the biggest development group I have ever had. There
is also a programming company working with us. If you count them, there are about 120
people working on Zelda together.
